Celebrating Spring .....

Hello Friends
A Mixed Media work celebrating Spring...........

Celebrating Spring Mixed Media

I don't have any WIP pictures for this, started with a background with watercolors on thick Grunge like watercolor paper.

Celebrating Spring Mixed Media

Used a stencil and texture paste to create the tulips and greenery...........

random stamping in the background using archival inks in Black and coffee and Bo Bunny, rubber texture stamps & Hero Arts stamps. No need to mask the stencilled areas as these are going to be covered with acrylic colors.

Celebrating Spring Mixed Media

layers of acrylic colors in different shades and colors thru the stencil.............stamping with white acrylic and a three dot small stamp and bottle lid circles..........the butterflies have a touch of color and glitter......

Celebrating Spring Mixed Media

The sentiment is computer generated......and the tiny flowers are made with home made air dry cold porcelain clay and colored with acrylics ............added some black ink splatters to finish off...

I am loving the lovely colors and textures here, hope you like this too !!

Hi Friends

Here's a card using mixed media and watercolors for the Lulupu Challenge : watercolors

I started with preparing my background with a coat of gesso on a recycled thick card from a package.

created texture using colored texture paste and Garden Peony Blossoms stencil by Memory Box, the lower portion of the card has texture created with applying texture paste with fingers.
After the texture dried colored using the Pearlescent watercolors by Niji from Lulupu .

I have stamped the awesome image from the bloom collection by Prima on tissue paper with archival black ink and attached to my background with Gel medium. colored the girl with various colors of Distress inks .........the sentiment is self designed and printed on a piece of vellum and attached to the card with brads

The flowers are colored with Niji Pearlescent watercolors.......some details with white Uni-ball Signo pen...............and a touch of diamond stickles for some glamour...... you can also see the yummy texture here......snd some drips using distress inks...

The finished panel is mounted on white cardstock and attached to lavender card base..........

Hope you like the color me purple girl !!

Journal Cover

Hello Friends

here's a journal cover page I made for the Paperartsy-grunge paste challenge

Started with a heavy watercolor paper, I have used Camlin Photo Inks to create the background. After the inks dried, have sealed the colors with a coat of Camlin gel medium. Used home made fibre paste and texture paste and a Prima and Tim Holtz stencil to create texture. I was inspired by this excellent work by Linda Cain on the Paperartsy blog.

After the grunge paste dried, stamped the background with black archival inks and some texture rubber stamps. The bird is stamped on a piece of cardstock using Fiskers 'For the Birds' stamp set. The 'Desi art' banner is torn from a Newspaper headline and reminds me of a comment from a dear blogger pal Rupa. I hope Rupa remembers it !!

Here is a closer view ......

All the flowers here are handmade, the black tim holtz flower with white ink splatters, the yellow spiral cut flower, the black cold porcelain flower, the red and blue roses out of punches, the cheery lynn sunflower etc . hope you can see the metal flowers and leaf which is embossed and die-cut metal colored with glass colors. used paper twine and some dangler beads in turquoise and pearl finish from an old piece of jewellery .

The finished work now adorns as the cover of the Trasure ( new term coined by Rupa and Tanvi as in Trash +Treasure/ Debris Journal 2 )made in this post.........

Trasure/Debris Journal 2 here...............

I turned it around so that the earlier cover is now the back cover..........

You can see the first art journal page in the Trasure/ Debris Journal one here.

Watercolor love

Hi Friends

Spring is here and so to celebrate is this card using watercolors.....

no stamps, no heat embossing, not even any pencil markings, just straight brush to the paper old fashioned technique ........

I have used Camlin artist quality watercolors and watercolor paper and of course water to create this card. This is the first time I am liking my trials with the watercolors. The only mantra with watercolor seems to be the least amount of pigment you have on your brush, the better it is !!

liking this spring scene with some basic supplies. The sentiment is stamped with coffee Archival ink on Vellum and a bit of paper twine in orange is added . Matted on to yellow corrugated sheet and orange cardstock. Hope you like it

Stuck on you .......

Hi Friends

sharing a card I made for the DCWV-April-stack-a-holic challenge.

The base is 5"x 7" embossed kraft card by DCWV. I have used the kraft and gold paper from a set of five pack premium papers from DCWV matted on deep maroon handmade paper layered with recycled corrugated paper and a cream and gold paper from my stash. difficult to capture the shimmer here on the cream and gold layer but looks really pretty.

the sentiment is from the TPC Studio Retro technology rubber stamp set and is stamped with Black Archival ink.

here's the card sketch :

Making cards is really tough for me and I envy the effortless ease with which my blogger pals create lovely creations one after the other !! Hope you like this.....
